Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using API Sentinel ("the Service") at apisentinel.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

API Sentinel is a SaaS tool that provides API endpoint validation and uptime monitoring. The Service checks URLs you provide, records results, and sends email alerts when monitors fail.

3. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key and for all activity associated with your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Monitor URLs you do not own or have explicit permission to monitor
• Intentionally overload or attack third-party services
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent the Service’s rate limits or security measures
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

5. Subscription and Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.

6. Data We Collect and Store

We store your email address, monitor configurations (URLs, names, headers, alert email), API validation logs (target URL, result, response time), and monitor check results. We do not store payment details — all billing is handled by Stripe. Your API key is stored as a one-way hash and cannot be recovered.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at legal@apisentinel.io.

8. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for damages resulting from downtime or service interruptions.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, API Sentinel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
